Workflow option 2: The librarian uploads a single asset to MAX+ then immediately adds metadata to it.
In MAX+, go to the left-side menu and click “Uploads”.
IF a secondary menu appears, then click “Browser Uploads”.
1. The folder you’ll be uploading to will be listed at the top of the screen.
If you have been given rights to choose folders, a button will appear there instead so you can navigate to your desired folder.
2. Drag-and-drop files to the middle of the screen that you wish to upload.
Due to technology differences in operating systems and browsers, the drag-and-drop function may not work. If it does not, please use the “Browse for a file…” button. Do not use the “Upload Folders” button.
A green bar will show the progress of the file being uploaded.
* Due to an error in the software, an upload will sometimes fail at this point.
Compassion’s IT department and the software vendor are working to solve this issue. |
When the upload is finished, a button will appear that reads “Finish and view”. Click it.
Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Complete every single metadata field that applies to your asset. Click here for a list of what information is required for each metadata field.
When finished typing in the metadata, scroll back to the top of the page and click the green button directly below the thumbnail of the image.
You are now finished with the upload.
An email will automatically be sent to the MAX+ Administrator with notification about your upload. The Administrator will then quality check the upload.
- If the metadata is good, the asset will be approved and will be added to the MAX+ database.
- If the metadata is not good enough, the asset will be returned to you with notes about what to improve.
If you were restricted to which folder you could upload to (back in step 1), you may wish to now move your asset to a more appropriate location in your MAX+ library.
To do so:
- Navigate in MAX+ to find your asset.
- Right-click on it and select “Move”
- Navigate through the menu (using the left side of the window, not the right)
- Select new location and click OK
