MAX+ FAQ

Q: How do I get an account in MAX?
A: Simply sign up for it on the homepage of MAX+. You will receive an email once your account has been approved and activated.

Q: What do I need to install on my computer to use MAX?
A: Nothing. MAX+ is a web-based tool and works with all browsers (IE; Firefox; Safari; etc.) on all computers (PC or Mac)

Q: Why are Compassion children's names sometimes spelled different? A: All names are double-checked against Compass. Whenever there is a discrepancy, we leave both spellings of the name in the asset.

Q: What are "Hot Folders"?
A: Hot Folders are a specialized way for the Communications staff in the Field to send large files to the Global Program Field Communications team. *Hot Folders are not another FTP* Only Communications staff have access to Hot Folders.

Q: There seems to be many different areas in Compassion where I can find media. How do I know who to contact?
A: You're right. There are several different Media Libraries in Compassion - USA Media library, Global Program Media library, GIC, Exec Team, etc. For more information, contact any media person and they can direct you to the proper library.

Q: Can I just click the red X to log out of MAX+?
A: No. Please actually click the LOG OUT link in the upper right corner of the screen. Don't just click the red X to close the browser window.

Q: I have a dial-up internet connection. Will MAX+ still work?
A: Yes, but it will be slow. The faster your Internet connection, the better.

Q: It's Friday afternoon and I keep getting kicked off MAX+. How come?
A: MAX+ undergoes maintenance every Friday afternoon from 3:00-5:00pm (Colorado time). You can still use MAX+ during this time, but will run the risk of being kicked off at any time.
